1987 560SL Mercedes Benz Convertible with Removable Top

1987 560SL Convertible with Removable Hardtop.
Second owner not a dealer.

This is a great car. We are the second owners and my wife has driven the car for the last 12 years. It has been well maintained and is in great shape.

3000 miles ago, in August of 2004, I spent $4,500 on engine work:
# New Heads
# New Front Shocks
# New Timing Chain
# New Flex Discs
# A/C Retrofitted

Having the timing chain replaced is critical on these older Mercedes.

200 miles ago, in June of 2006, I spent $2,500 on:
# New Motor Mounts
# New Transmission Mounts
# New Differential & Exhaust Hangers
# Some Steering Work

This car handles extremely well, just like it did when I bought it. I can send you jpgs of the maintenance receipts.

Mechanically this car is very strong and has no rust. I would not hesitate to drive it across the country.

This is a beautiful car, but it is almost 20 years old and it needs some minor cosmetic work to make it pristine.
The stitching on the convertible top is starting to go.
Seats & arm rest show wear.
Driver seat belt has some broken plastic.
Small paint chip on the hood.
Small ding in the top truck lid.
Small ding in driver’s door.
Pocket on the driver’s door panel has a crack.
Leather is torn in the cargo area by the top release lever.
Paint chips in the lower rear door panels.
Dash has threes cracks.
Broken passenger side visor clip.
Paint scratched on passenger rear fender.
Red paint rubbed off on top of driver’s door panel (an area of about 1/8” x 4”)
I have taken photos of all the minor problems, so the winning bidder will not have any surprises.

This is a fantastic car, a very sharp Mercedes. She has been well cared for and I hate to see her go, but we are moving and can’t take it with us.
